beforeUdig provides an option for you to Continue a previous enquiry, usually for large jobs where the area needs to be broken down into multiple smaller sections. After submitting a job (or after doing a History search) for an enquiry that you would like to extend the area for, click the "Actions" button at the top right and select the Continue Job option:
Note: If you cannot locate the Continue Job button, this may be because:
- The job was lodged a long time ago and has been archived. You will need to lodge a new enquiry instead.
- Your account may not have been validated yet, preventing you from continuing the job online.
This function is similar to resubmits, except the previous map area will appear greyed-out, allowing you to draw a new area with the previous area as a reference:
This is particularly useful for lodging large enquiries (over 1km in size) which need to be submitted in multiple sections, as you are able to continue each section off the end of the last one without losing your place. Some utilities cannot process jobs over this size, so sections should be kept below this limit.
The continued job's Enquiry Details will automatically populate to be the same as the previous enquiry, except the dates, which will need to be entered again. The other fields on this page can also be altered if required.
Note: If your enquiry is for Excavation purposes and includes Road Reserve, do not enter your original job's CAR number in for subsequent continued jobs. This is because your jobs may pass through more than one council/road authority's jurisdiction.
After marking out the continued section of map, you will be asked to reconfirm the site address at Step 5 "Confirm dig site". The confirmation sheet will be sent to whichever email you currently have on your account (regardless of where the original job was sent, if your contact details have changed).
