Popup blockers are a feature on most web browsers which prevents websites automatically bringing up new "popup" windows. As a default, this feature is usually switched on. This can cause issues for websites like OneCall, PlanAccess, PermitMonitor and PermitManager, which use popup windows / tabs to load their relevant screens. The instructions below describe how to disable popups in the four main browsers: Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
Internet Explorer
We advise against using Internet Explorer, the website does not work well with that older browser. However, if you are using Internet Explorer you can try the options below.
Blocked popup message will appear as so at the bottom of the screen:
Can click on "Options for this site" to allow popups from the website. If the user clicks "Allow once" they will have to retake this step each new session where they try to open the website.
OR to allow popups manually:
1. Click the Settings button at the top right of browser window and click Internet Options:
2. Open the "Privacy" tab. They can either uncheck the "Turn on Pop-up Blocker" box and click Apply (NB: this will allow popups from all websites, not just ours):
OR click on Settings to manually select to allow popups from our website only. Type in the web address and click Add, then Close:
Microsoft Edge
Blocked popup message will appear as so:
Can click on Always allow to allow popups from the website. If the user clicks Allow once they will have to retake this step each new session where they try to open that website.
OR to allow popups manually:
1. Click the menu button at the top right of browser toolbar and click Settings:
2. Scroll down to "Advanced Settings" and click View advanced settings:
3. At the "Block pop-ups" section, click the radio button and it will change from "On" to "Off" (NB: that this will allow popups from all websites, not just ours):
Mozilla Firefox
Blocked popup message will appear as so:
They can click Options and select to Allow pop-ups, or go straight to the Pop-Up Blocker options:
OR to allow popups manually:
1. Click the menu button at top right of browser toolbar and click Options:
2. From the toolbar on the left select Privacy & Security:
3. At the Pop-ups section, uncheck the "Block Pop-up windows" box (NB: this will allow popups from every website, not just ours):
OR they can click Exceptions to add our website to a list of allowable sites. Enter the web address, click Allow, then click Save Changes:
Google Chrome
Will receive an error message at right-hand side of address bar, click on this and then select "Always allow pop-ups" and click Done. Try opening the program / website again:
OR to allow popups manually:
1. Click the menu button at top right of browser toolbar and click Settings:
2. Scroll down to "Privacy" and click Content Settingsā¦:
3. Scroll down to "Pop-ups". They can click the radio button to allow popups (NB: this will allow popups from all sites, not just ours):
OR click Manage exceptions to allow specifically our site. Type the web address in the field at the bottom, select "Allow", then click Done:
